With winter behind us, soft shimmering skin is all the vibes for us Jawns! This 9-step DIY Body Butter recipe is sure to leave your skin super moisturized and healthy for those soon come sunrays!
1/2 cup Shea Butter
1/2 cup Cocoa Butter or Mango Butter
1/2 cup Coconut Oil
1/2 cup light oil (like almond, jajoba or olive)
Optional: 10-30 drops of essential oils of choice
Small pot or double boiler
Spoon for mixing
Glass bowl / container with lid.
Hand mixer/metal whisk
Combine all ingredients except essential oils in a double boiler or small pot.
Bring to medium heat and stir constantly until all ingredients are melted.
Remove from heat and let cool for approx 5 min. (add essential oil)
Remove from pot and place into glass bowl or container.
Place bowl in fridge and let cool for 1 hour or until the mixture is starting to harden but still somewhat soft.
After 1 hour timer is up, use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes until fluffy.
Return to fridge for another 10-15 minutes to set.
Store in a glass jar with a lid and use as you would regular lotion or body butter. If your home stays above 75 degrees, it may soften and need to be kept at the fridge, but it will stay whipped at a temperature lower than that.
